Jon Alexander, author of ‘CITIZENS: Why the Key to Fixing Everything is All of Us’ is joining Creatives for Climate to share insights and learnings on how communication professionals can reframe messages and design better campaigns to drive positive change.

Jon says:

“We are living deep inside the Consumer Story, a foundational story of humans as inherently self-interested and competitive. This story has shaped not just individual behavior but organisational design, economic theory, the role of government, morality — all of culture and society. But this is not as inevitable and inescapable as it feels, for stories do change.”

In this session, Jon will outline what the consumer story is, how we can recognize it and reframe a more positive message to drive behavior change.

Jon will be drawing on his decades long experience working in the advertising industry before choosing to change course to stop amplifying a story he no longer believed in: the consumer.

The second part of this session will be opened up to hear from our audience of frontrunners, unpacking current examples, exploring new ideas, and laying the foundations for collaborative opportunities to grow.
