May updates & marking our second birthday as an NGO

As the climate crisis escalates, so too does our mission to activate climate leadership within the creative industries.

Today, almost five years since we launched, and two years as a formalized non-profit, our community on the Hub has grown to almost 4,000 members, while our network across channels has grown to over 30,000!

Just last week, we spoke to a diversity of players across policy, agencies and brands, and below I recap the highlights, announce the first speakers of the Ethical Agency Summit, and… launch an exciting new survey inviting YOU to help shape our next steps!

Announcing the first Summit speakers

With exactly a month to go until the Ethical Agency Summit, we’re excited to share the first round of speakers that will be joining us. Drum roll please….

Our first announced speakers include , Sustainability Director at Wieden+Kennedy, , Senior Sustainability Strategist at Quantis International, Daan van Apeldoorn, Senior Manager B Corp Impact and Engagement at B Lab and our very own Managing Director .

Later this week we’ll be announcing our second line up of speakers, some exciting announcements, and the DJ who will take the night away! There’s just a few tickets left, so secure your spot here.

What does an ethical agency mean to you?

With the right tools, agencies can accelerate the shift across the marketing, advertising and PR industries from pollution to solution.

We’ve just launched a new survey to better understand the challenges facing agencies on their journey - which is where you come in!

Fill out or share the Agency Ethics Survey to make your voice heard. If you’re a pioneer already working on this area, this is the perfect way to let us know what you’re up to!

Help us hear from 100+ agencies by 15th May! Have your say here.

Launching our Ethical Agency Breakfast series

We’ve launched a series of ‘collaboration breakfasts’ bringing together diverse agencies across marketing, pr, production and digital to share insights and lessons from the ‘frontline’ on accelerating the transition from pollution to solution.

Our first breakfasts took place in Amsterdam (pictured) and London, and were hosted by Alliance members Blyde PR and Fanclub PR.

We’re energized to see agencies coming together, even those that ‘compete’ in pitches, to share best practice and answer difficult questions. Read the Amsterdam recap here and London recap here.

Here’s what Jo Vyvyan-Robinson, Partner at freuds had to say about our London breakfast:

“Without doubt the most meaningful two hours of my working week - we must all make time for these discussions, however hard they are, and however big the challenges might seem, to have any chance in making the changes we want to see. This industry has the power to influence and take action to deliver change”

Creatives for Climate around the globe

Last month’s world tour included three community events in Auckland, Sydney and Oslo.

SYDNEY: Our first community meet-up in Aus explored how we can unite the over 700,000 creative professionals who power Australia’s creative industries to take collective action. Read the full lowdown from host Caitlin Clark’s perspective here.

AUCKLAND: In Auckland, our Asia-Pacific lead Antonia Estall partnered with Design Assembly NZ to share lessons on industry collaboration to drive change, which you can read more about here.

OSLO: In Oslo, we hosted a community event at the Conduit and soft-launched a VERY exciting collaboration we will be launching at our second birthday party on Thursday.

Speaking of, we’ve got a ton of birthday surprises in store for our virtual party on Thursday and you’re invited - RSVP on the Hub to be the first to hear the news! 🎉 🎉 🎉
