2019 SUMMIT

Bringing together 150+ leaders from across the creative sector.

In 2019, we launched Creatives for Climate as a summit held at Patagonia HQ in Amsterdam.

We launched with a media splash reaching 4 million people, that kicked off Creatives for Climate as a movement and on the back of this summit, coordinated two actions; more than 20 Dutch agencies signed a pledge we initiated to support The Climate Disclosure, a commitment to declare the amount of ‘climate conflict clients’ and and Create and Strike, a promise to give staff a day off to join the global climate march.

The results

Extensive media coverage that reached 4 million people

Adweek, Sustainable Brands, The Drum, and LBB covered the event. Local outlets Adformatie, Fonk News, Sprout, and Frank News also shared the news.

We secured climate pledges from 20 Dutch Agencies

They signed the Climate Disclosure, a commitment to disclose the percentage of turnover from high-carbon clients, and Create and Strike, a commitment to give staff a day off to join the global climate march.

An open call for assets that resulted in 200+ submissions

We compiled the submitted assets into a database that was free and available for anyone to use.

WeTransfer shared the database directly through their platform, leading to 8,000 downloads.

2020 Summit

We kicked off 2020 with a second summit - bringing the community together again for another sold out event, introducing our theme for the year, collaborative action

The event answered the demand for a way for individuals, companies and brands to explore new solutions and take action. 

It was an evening full of inspiration, motivation and most importantly - a call for action.

After hearing from rousing activists and inspiring thought leaders, 250 creatives rolled up their sleeves to collaborate and come up with innovative solutions to tackle the climate crisis - responding to briefs presented that night.

2022 Summit

In 2022 we came back with a bang, industry leaders came together for our third-ever summit - and the first since our formation as an NGO. We left the event with four concluding actions to take forward:

DIVEST

The best way to use your creativity for good is to join the growing movement to divest from fossil fuels.

INCLUDE

The event started with a reminder that this movement must include ALL voices, and the Creatives for Climate audience expressed a desire to hear (and see) more of this with ongoing calls for diversity to be a high priority in terms of driving change.

REIMAGINE

Running parallel to COP27, with conversations around whether it’s “too late” for 1.5 degrees front and centre, calls for storytellers to use their creativity to  'imagine' and 'story-tell' the new beyond apocalyptic notions of doom and gloom, were loud and clear.
